BHADERWAH,FEB 22 (KNO) : The ongoing indefinite strike on the call given by the All J&K Patwar Association has severely affected the working of the revenue department in Bhaderwah and other areas of Chenab Valley with the association refusing to budge till their demands are fulfilled.Patwaris have been demanding removal of pay anomalies, promotion of Girdawars to Naib Tehsildar, stoppage of direct recruitment as Naib Tehsildar, renovation and construction of Patwarkhana, creation of new Patwar Halqas and their inclusion into technical grade.

All Jammu and Kashmir Patwari Association members organised a peacefull protest in the premises of ADC office Bhaderwah which was attended by Mohd Ashraf ,Nayem Zargar and others said few of the Patwaris were recruited in some years ago who are juniors but, they are being paid more than their seniors. “We want this dual policy to end. Hundreds of Patwaris across Jammu and Kashmir are suffering due to this pay anomaly,” they said. The association alleged that the state Govt. has turned deaf ears towards the long pending demands of Patwar fraternity.

The association has warned the state Govt. if their demands are not considered at an earliest, the strike may long for indefinite period. The speakers impressed upon the Govt to redress the demands at an earliest so that the general public may not suffer more. The demands included Grade pay from 2400 to 2800 for graduate Patwaries, timely DPC of Patwaries and GQ's, creation of GQ circles/Patwar Halqas, ban of direct recruitment of NT and increase in allowances.(KNO)
